Coilcraft, Inc., founded in 1945, is an established worldwide organization specializing in the manufacturing of magnetic components including high performance RF chip inductors, power magnetics and filters with headquarters located in Cary, Illinois. We are seeking an individual to join our materials team as an engineering technician. This position may be ideal for you if you are creative, like working with people and technology and want to work for a company that has a worldwide reputation for quality.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in experimentation of new materials and compounds for use in electromagnetic products, which includes sample preparation and analysis.
  • Collect and interpret data to assist engineers in developing, troubleshooting and improving new and existing materials.
  • General maintenance of lab equipment

 

 Job Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree in electronics or material sciences is preferred or relevant experience.
  • 0-5 years previous work experience
  • Experience working with microscopes, handling of powders, liquids and adhesives.
  • Exceptional creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral technical communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong documenting skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others.
